Our Story

From the Big Lap to Your Wardrobe

When we packed up the house and set off to spend over three years doing the Big Lap, we were chasing absolute freedom. What we didn't expect to find was such an incredible, tight-knit community of fellow travellers huddled around campfires all across Australia.

Every person we met had a story to tell, and those connections stayed with us long after the dust settled. We didn't want those beautiful memories to fade when we finally parked up - and that is exactly how Made on the Road was born.

Apparel Made for the Journey

This store is a true passion project for us. We wanted to create more than just standard clothing; we wanted to design genuine conversation-starters that bring people together, celebrate iconic Aussie humour, and commemorate the places that steal your heart.

Whether it’s our interactive Lap'n Australia shirts you colour in as you travel, or our heartfelt Personalit-tees designed to support mental health awareness on the road, everything we make is simple, offbeat, and fun. We hope you find a design that tickles your sense of humour or simply makes you think, "Yeah, that’s cool!"

Meet the Team

• Sue (The Creative Hub): With a background spanning professional photography, marketing, and digital media, I’ve always needed a creative outlet. Made on the Road lets me combine my love for the Australian landscape with digital apparel design. I handle all the design work to ensure everything is printed fresh to order, just for you.
  
• Andy (The Support Crew): While I'm busy at the design desk, my husband Andy provides the ultimate silent moral support. Officially an analyst by trade, on the road he acts as my big supporter, chief advisor (offering plenty of wisdom, both solicited and unsolicited!), and reliably keeps the chardonnay glass topped up exactly when required.
